About Us
We Believe Music Education Transforms Lives.
Music education has proven time and again to be a transformative force in the lives of students. It fosters creativity, discipline, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. These benefits extend far beyond the classroom, enriching the lives of students as they grow into well-rounded individuals ready to face the challenges of the world.
Founded in 2010, the Ashland Music Association is a parent volunteer run 501(c)(3) organization that provides financial and volunteer assistance to the music programs in the Ashland, MA public schools. In addition to offsetting the over $6,000 annual deficit that our music education programs face every year, we also raise funds and support for additional enrichment activities for our band and choral students. This includes, but is not limited to:
Registration and transportation expenses for students to attend music events and competitions, such as the annual Massachusetts Instrumental Choral and Conductors Association concert & choral competitions.
Audition and transportation costs for students to participate in Junior and Senior District, All-State and All-Eastern Music Festivals.
Teacher grants to enhance the music curriculum.
Coordinate community music performances showcasing our talented students.
