Our Music Students Are AMAZING!
AHS Concert Bands & AMS Wind Ensemble Earn Gold & Silver at the 2024 MICCA Festival
April 2024 - This AHS Concert Bands and the AMS Wind Ensemble competed in the Massachusetts Instrumental & Choral Conductor's Association Concert Festiva on April 5th. The purpose of the festival is to encourage and support high performing standards by public school music organizations across the state. The APS bands earned top awards at this festival with the APS Blue Concert Band earning a gold award for superior performance, and the APS White Band and AMS Wind Ensemble earning a silver award for excellent performance. These are significant achievements for APS. Congratulations to the students and music teachers, Mr. Maule and Mr. Koning!
3 Ashland Music Students Earn Seats at the Central District Junior Music Festival!
February 2024 – The Ashland Music Association congratulates the following students who were selected through a rigorous audition process to represent the Ashland community at the Central District Junion Music Festival:
Lucille Stillitano (alto saxophone) AMS
Aiden Jacob (trombone) AHS
Gianluca Uglialoro (bass clarinet) AHS
The Central District Junior Music festival takes place at the end of April at Blackstone-Millville Regional High School.
Sarah Miksis to Represent Ashland in the 2024 Mass All-State Music Festival!
January 2024 - The Ashland Music Department is proud to announce that Sarah Miksis will represent the Ashland Community in the 2024 Massachusetts All-State Music Festival. The Music Festival takes place at the end of March and culminates in a performance at Symphony Hall in Boston. Sarah was selected through a rigorous state-wide audition process.
10 AHS Students Invited to Represent Ashland at the Central District Senior Music Festival!
October 2023 - The AMA congratulates our youth musicians on their wonderful achievement! We also give a shout out to the amazing music teachers that are helping our students hone their musical talents. Way to go!!
The Central District Senior Music Festival takes place in January and culminates in a performance at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA.
AMS Wind Ensemble Earns Silver at MICCA Festival
April 2023 - The Ashland Middle School Wind Ensemble and High School Concert Bands participated in the Massachusetts Instrumental & Choral Conductor's Association (MICCA) Concert Ensemble Festival earlier this month where they were evaluated on the merit of their performance by highly qualified musical adjudicators. After their performance, each band participated in an Ensemble Workshop where the adjudicators worked with the bands on the pieces they performed, providing valuable guidance on how to strengthen the overall performance. The AMS Wind Ensemble earned a second bracket rating, earning them a Silver Medal.
